DEAFHEAVEN PREMIERES NEW SONG, “SUNBATHER”, VIA THE FADERNew Album Available June 11th from Deathwish Inc.
“…multi-tiered epic, travelling through a melodically unpredictable succession of tremolo-filled, tension-building moments and blast-beat-driven explosions.” -…
Hope BANE Shows books them again in Santa Cruz.
The recording of these songs serves as a farewell to Rear House, Woods’ home, recording studio, creative refuge and beloved shithole for 10 long years. “God’s Children” is a classic Kinks tune from the soundtrack to the 1971 British film “Percy.” “Be All Be Easy,” originally from 2011’s Sun and Shade, was re-recorded to capture the live form that’s taken shape since it’s original release. Both are the first to feature new drummer, Aaron Neveu.

Who caught Opeth - Mastodon - Ghost in Oakland’s Fox Theater tonight?
clip from their Evolution tour
All I want is Future Islands to have a show in my yard every night for the rest of my life.
Everything else is bullshit.(If they tour through your city and you don’t see them, you are dead to me. They’re the best thing going. CLICK HERE FOR TOUR DATES)
I’m sticking with the dark, nighttime videos. Brooklyn singer songwriter Frankie Rose’s Night Swim is more on the vintage pop rock side of things, but it still has a layer of ominous atmosphere. The guitars on this are pretty awesome. Some may know of Frankie Rose as a former member of Vivian Girls and Dum Dum Girls. The garage rock sound definitely carries over into her solo work.
stopping in Santa Cruz April 20!!
Best Coast has been a staple in summer tunes for me, although I only caught the last part of their set at Outside Lands on the way over the The Shins. This time around they’re having a full set at the Fox Theatre in Oakland, promoting their future album release The Only Place.
So not only there is that incentive, JEFF the Brotherhood from Nashville are opening, catch the rock show on May 19th.

Metals’ finest descends in the Bay Area, Friday, August 3rd at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.
Their last stop was in Concord back in 2010, with Dream Theater, promoting their latest studio release The Final Frontier. No word yet on who’s the opener for this tour, but it’s going to be one helluva show and we’ll be out there. That was easily the best metal show of 2010, and a successful father’s day show. So far only the tour dates have been announced and they’ll be in North America for almost 2 months and 30 stops across the US and Canada.
Connect to our Facebook and Twitter, we’ll be posting up the on-sale info as soon as its released!
With Bon Iver’s recent tour announcement, the band also unveiled its supporting act for the trek around the West Coast. Enter All Tiny Creatures, the creation of Wisconsin’s own Thomas Wincek — suggesting there must be something in the water in the Badger State.
Wincek joined forces with Andrew Fitzpatrick, Ben Derickson, and Matthew Skemp to release the All Tiny Creatures debut album, 2011’s Harbors, which features guest vocals from the likes of fellow Wisconsinite and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and several others. In essence, All Tiny Creatures is, as the band’s web-bio proclaims, “truly modern music.” They take the beauty and technology of an older Radio Dept. or Panda Bear, but inject it with a rawer and newer sound, one that resonates in its drifting, dream-like subtlety and beauty. Harbors was certainly one we missed in 2011, but one we can all discover in 2012 — their impending jaunt with Bon Iver should also help give them exposure to a larger crowd.
You can like the band at their facebook page here and check out a couple more tracks from their first record below. Also, be sure to catch All Tiny Creatures at the following dates and locations.

Some of you probably know that Portlandia has been on tour, and it seems every stop has been sold out. I only became tuned into this knowledge due to seeing that Thao was a guest on their stop in San Francisco, but by then, all tickets were gone with the wind. That’s okay. Thao is coming back next…
sooo bummed i missed this tour, i’m up in PDX right now so it makes up for it… well… Bridgeport Beer sorta is..
